appetite for lowbrow

i just watched this special on ovation called the lowdown on lowbrow. in it, robert williams says some pretty great shit about la vs nyc. i have to say, i completely agree with him despite being a new york resident for just shy of ten years. i digress, basically he says that after world war 2, the good old usa took a lot of culture and art from france et al so nyc is a very european city. cool, no problem there. but when california and specifically la sprung up much later, it owed nothing to europe. no art, no culture. the cali natives invented hot rods, weirdo comics and big fake tities. not bad rw. point one to la.
regardless, tune into ovation to see it. it's pretty badass.

whether it's old guitars, old records or used books, i'm the kinda guy that appreciates something a bit weathered and used. not bombed out and depleted like andy rooney but used a bit. there's something cool about it. vintage for all you fashion people. i picked up these boots for next to nothing from a guy who also specializes in vintage mexican skull rings. next time...
