we all get influenced + inspired by a variety of people. today i want to mention sfk bc he's gotten me into so many artists. so right now, i'm going to make the art book collecting world mad by mentioning chris burden. he, like jack smith, is truly the father of performance art - and i don't mean the landlord performing his cycle in a tutu. i mean real shit. something with substance. check the video below to watch a young chris burden agree to be shot (by a real gun) in a gallery.
